The science behind the four day week (text)

My local area theme

What’s on offer?

15 minute presentation on recent findings from the Sussex 4 day week study, followed by 45 minute panel discussion with local employers and employees who have successfully trialled a 4 day working week. The event will end with an open 30 minute Q&A.

What’s it about?

This event will showcase how local businesses have successfully trialled and implemented a 4 day working week, with insights from employers and employees who have themselves adopted a 4 day week, and University of Sussex academics who have assessed the impacts on staff wellbeing and workplace performance. The evening will also include the opportunity to ask the panel questions, so that attendees can take away ideas and inspiration for switching their organisation this new way of working. Panel members include:

James Armstrong, Social Firefly

Carlene Jackson, Cloud9Insight

Antony Mayfield, Brilliant Noise

Dr Charlotte Rae, Lecturer in Psychology at University of Sussex, and leader of the Sussex 4 Day Week Project
