Available online - just 5 to 10 minutes to take part!
We have created an online interactive map that will allow young people to search for their neighbourhoods and see what facilities and amenities they currently have access to within a 10-minute walk of their postcode. The online interactive map is suitable for use on tablets and smart phones.
Once you have watched the video and searched for your home location, you will be asked to give feedback on how you would rate the quality of your home neighbourhood. Tell us if there are other destinations you require in your local area and how they can help with your daily needs. This event is based around the Scottish Government’s Place Standard for young people.
If you walked or wheeled in any direction for 10 minutes from where you live or go to school, what would you like to find in your area?
The Scottish Government have committed to apply the concept of the 20-minute neighbourhood across the country. The 20-minute neighbourhood aims to provide access to destinations that people require for their daily needs within a 10-minute commute from their home. These include education, recreational, financial, social, and recreational destinations.
We have created an online interactive map for the whole of Scotland that provides the number of key destinations each postcode has access to within 10-minutes of their home. Our activity allows participants to search for their address (or a public space near to where they live) using an interactive map, the map shows whether you live within a 20-minute neighbourhood and the destinations you have within a 10-minute walk or wheel of your home. We will ask young people to assess the quality of these destinations and what other destinations you would like within a 10-minute walk or wheel of your home to meet yourdaily needs.
