Teach Climate Sense: Empower your community to act on climate change

What’s on offer?

Do you work with young people or are you involved with your local community? Do you want to empower others to respond to the climate crisis positively? Do you have existing experience of facilitating training? If so, this event is for you.  Join us for this four-part online workshop series where we will take you through all the activities from Manchester Met’s climate change education toolkit: “Climate Sense”. Once you have attended the workshops, you will gain full access to all the activities in the toolkit, free for you to use within any educational and/or community context.

What’s it about?

These workshops will cover everything from the basic science of climate change to how we can take climate action and influence others. As the workshops build on each other, we would ask that you to attend all four workshops: 1. The Science of Climate Change & Exploring Carbon Footprints, 2. A Zero Carbon World, 3. Our Wider Influence, 4. Taking Action.

The workshops will be highly interactive and provide you with plenty of opportunities to experience the activities from the toolkit and ask any questions about the materials. We will also cover how  you can use the activities for both standalone shorter sessions as well as for running full Climate Sense training.

Who’s leading the event?

This event is led by Manchester Met’s award-winning Carbon Literacy team.

This event is open to anyone with existing experience of facilitating training who would like to deliver climate change education within their local community or to young people.
