How to tackle food crisis from a value chain perspective

Community of practice, knowledge networks and e-collaboration

My local area theme

What’s on offer?

This workshop will take a holistic approach to tackling food supply issues. You'll gain insights into practical solutions and advice on the knowledge and technology sharing services available to local food/farming communities.

What’s it about?

United Nations Development programme has placed food as the second highest item on its priority list which includes in total 17 goals. Agri-food value chains, the people/businesses involved in the agricultural production and processing of food from production through to consumption, play an important role in providing food security and reducing hunger worldwide. Many countries in the world are undergoing a cost of living crisis and it is urgent that stakeholders at all stages of the food value chain can come together to address various issues collectively.

This workshop will bring together local communities, charities, businesses, practitioners, researchers and other interested individuals and organisations to discuss how to tackle the food crisis from a value chain perspective. Invited speakers will provide insights in some of the intertwined solutions supported by emerging digital technologies, for example, communities of practice, virtual networks, knowledge sharing and e-collaboration. These collective efforts can enhance the resilience of agri-food value chains and help to address the current food crisis.
