Equity in North West Coast - Come play with us!

My local area theme

What’s on offer?

Come along to play! Join us for a games and quiz session that will offer an interactive way of exploring health equity and inequalities.

Open to young people and adults, discover more about the extent of health inequalities in the North West Coast area, the difference between health inequalities and equity and why it's important. Find out about the role of research in reducing health inequalities and consider whether you would like to get involved in our research.

What’s it about?

The session will offer you a chance to exchange insights with Public Advisers across the Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC), hear about their experiences of getting involved in research that aims to reduce health inequalities and be motivated to think of ways you could take action yourself.

By using playful resources and games we will explore health equity and inequalities that apply to your local area. We’ll also introduce you to a new toolkit co-developed by academics and Public Advisers https://forequity.uk that was launched just a few months ago.

Who’s leading the event?

Katerina Panagaki (Senior Research Associate at Department of Health, Lancaster University) is the Lead for Health Equity Mainstreaming in NIHR ARC NWC

Open to

Anyone with an interest in health and wellbeing and equity issues.

Of particular interest to

Those with an interest or already involved in healthcare, but no particular background or pre-existing knowledge around health inequalities is necessary. Also for anyone who would like to find out how to get involved in our research.
