Join us for a panel on voice, music, speech, and public health. We will revisit various difficulties in speech and expression through conceptions of environmental voice in music and discuss the implications and significance of considering speech difficulties as part of public health. The panel will feature researchers in music, voice, and sound, music therapy, speech and language therapy, and public health. We will conclude the event with a brief participatory activity on voice and listening.
The format of the event includes a 45-minute panel discussion with researchers in music, music therapy, speech and language therapy, environmental humanities, and public health, and a 15-20 minute participatory activity focusing on voice, environmental sounds, and listening.
